This project consisted of the complete renovation of a historic three story church into a modern and elegant office facility for the United Way of Central Oklahoma Offices. The Facility comprised 28,000 square feet and included all new interior walls, ceilings and finishes, a new parking lot, complete new mechanical and electrical systems and renovation of the exterior including a new roof, windows and storefront systems. The interior space was designed to be extremely versatile and included conference rooms, offices, a large workroom, substantial storage spaces, a print shop, break rooms and a large multipurpose room. Upon entering the lobby, patrons are greeted with a custom designed reception desk covered in exotic veneers and an Avonite acrylic countertop. The conference center includes two stunning features: the first of which are the four floating acoustical shaped ceiling waves and the second is the floor to ceiling basket weave style woodwork in the presentation area. The west exterior elevation is adorned with perforated aluminum panels which conceal color changing LED accent lighting. Another unique feature, that may be easily overlooked, is the incorporation of a ground source heat pump system. This highly efficient system required the boring of 63 wells to a depth of 300 feet.
